O que Embiid pode aprender através do ‘Last Dance’
Antigo campeão da NBA, Hall of Famer e ex-treinador dos 76ers, o treinador Larry Brown esteve presente no Sixers Talk podcast. O treinador que levou os 76ers ás suas últimas finais, na época de 2000-01, falou de Embiid.
“When I see Joel, I don’t think anybody is better than him” the Hall of Fame coach said on the Sixers Talk podcast, via NBC Sports. “He might get mad at me today, but he needs to get on the block, and he needs to block every shot and dominate on the post because he’ll open it up for everybody else. And I don’t think there’s a better big man in the game than him. (…) “My hope for him is that he would think about Kobe and Michael and watch ‘The Last Dance” and realize the gift that he has, and just spend all his time working on that craft because there’s nobody that can be any more dominant than him.”

É certo que Embiid tem um talento enorme e, quando está com vontade de se esforçar e com a cabeça no jogo, poucos são os que lhe conseguem fazer frente. O poste All Star, que foi criticado pela sua condição física no passado, colocou no sábado uma foto no Instagram em que está deitado no chão, no ginásio dos 76ers, após uma sessão de treino nesta quarentena.
Larry Brown também elogiou Ben Simmons, apesar da falta do seu lançamento, indicando que ele sabe defender, ressaltar, passar a bola como qualquer um, que certamente não é um jogador egoísta.

Mesmo assim, Brown mostrou algumas reservas sobre a construção do plantel dos 76ers, principalmente no par Embiid-Simmons. referindo que não crê que a equipa encaixe. Enquanto disse que os Sixers têm um enorme talento, há muitas dúvidas se este duo encaixa.
